Hard reset iPhone 3g:

Make sure you are connected to the internet, and you are using iTunes latest version.
Connect your iPhone 4 to your PC and start iTunes.

Now click on your iPhone under the device in the left column.

Then click on 'Restore iPhone'  in the summary tab.

Click on 'Restore'

How to hard reset iPhone 4

iPhone 4 hard reset: Hard reset is a procedure to overcome many OS related problem. iPhone offers various ways to hard reset iPhone 4. After a successful hard reset iPhone 4 will be as when it came from factory. For the reason hard reset called as factory reset iPhone 4.If your iPhone not responding or not operating as expected? * Press and hold Home button and Sleep/Wake button simultaneously.

















* Hold both button until  you see the screen go blank. Sometimes you may need to keep holding them   even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just continue holding it.
 Wait until the Apple logo like above image appears.
 When this happens, you can free both button and you will see the iPhone is rebooting.

Restore iPhone 4:

Through iTune latest version you can restore your iPhone 4. Connect your iPhone 4 to PC and  start iTune.

Now click on your iPhone under device of left column.

 

Then click on 'Restore iPhone'  in the summary tab.

Click on 'Restore'

The restore process will restore your iPhone iOS.

After a successful restoring iPhone 4 you will see "Slide to set up". Follow the steps in the iOS Setup procedure.

Now you can restore your data which previously backed up.

Important:
Restore process will erase all user data. All user settings will be reset as well. Try to sync iPhone with iTunes before restoring to back up your most valuable data and settings.
